MUSIC COMPOSITION INTENSIVE
Young composers thrive in this intimate full-day forum, expressing themselves in a truly personal venue. Composer Stephen Coxe inspires students ages 14 to 17 who want to develop, rehearse and perform original compositions. This workshop is also an opportunity to examine issues of contemporary music and performance practices.

CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
In this half-day workshop, talented 14 to 17 year old musicians come together to explore the challenges and rewards of playing in a chamber orchestra. Lead by the dynamic Ines Gomez-Ochoa, repertory includes the works of Bach, Haydn, Handel, Purcell, Vivaldi and many others.

CHAMBER MUSIC INTENSIVE
Playing in small ensembles is the highlight of this full-day workshop. Individual coaching and group work brings students to a new awareness of small ensemble pieces. Directed by Ines Gomez-Ochoa, students from 14 to 17 deepen their love of great composers including Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvorak, and Brahms.

SONGWRITING
Young songwriters work individually and collaboratively to bring their lyrics to life in this half-day workshop. Will Danforth, songwriter and recording artist, draws from the folk and blues traditions as he guides 14 to 17 year olds to join words and music. Opportunities for culmination of study include live performances and a recording studio session to produce a compilation CD.
July 17 - August 6

INSTRUMENTAL JAZZ

Instrumentalists rehearse and perform jazz, jazz-funk, and Latin jazz compositions under the guidance of Don Glasgo. Pieces are selected based on the instrumentation and abilities of the students enrolled. Auditions are not required, but a baseline knowledge is assumed, particularly for rhythm section players (piano, guitar, bass, drums). The focus throughout will be on improvisation, how to listen, and how to play together. Students, age 14 to 17, rehearse together daily and have opportunities for performances throughout the session.

July 17 - August 6

VOCAL ENSEMBLE

Students who love to sing devote three hours each day to learning music from around the world, exploring an array of singing styles to develop their skills and knowledge of musical styles. A capella, small ensemble and solo selections are included in the range and style of work undertaken. Students enroll for their love of singing together and have opportunities to perform during the session.
