What happens on a visit?

For the 2011-2012 academic year, here is a sample schedule for campus visits:

9:45 A.M. Arrival
10:00 A.M. to 10:35 A.M. Assembly or Sing
10:40 A.M. to 11:40 A.M. Campus Tour
11:45 A.M. to 12:45 P.M. Interview
12:45 P.M. LUNCH (optional)

A visit starts at 9:45 A.M. with arrival at the Main Building, where the admission staff will greet you and provide a schedule for your visit. All School Assembly or Sing is next, followed by a campus tour with one of our student tour guides. Then you and your parent or guardian will have interviews with either the Director of Admission, Rick Cowan, Associate Director of Admission, Lois Barber, Assistant Director of Admission, Natalie Knowles, or another Admission representative. We welcome you to join us for lunch. Please let us know if this is possible for you.

Please note:  If you are not able to follow this schedule or you need to leave early, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate you.

How should I dress?
Keep in mind that the school is part of a working farm and the tour will include a visit to the barn. Informal dress and "sensible shoes" recommended!

Should I bring anything with me when I visit?
You are welcome to bring any samples of your artwork, but this is not a requirement.

If I play an instrument, can I bring it to my interview?
Yes, if you are a musician, we invite you to bring your instrument to the school. We are very proud of our music program, and our music director is always eager to meet musicians.

What if I can't travel to Putney for an interview?
You can arrange for a Skype or a phone interview appointment with one of our Admission representatives. Our Skype address for international applicants is PutneyInternationalStudentOffice, and for domestic applicants it is PutneySchoolAdmission.
